Standing Hampton is excited to announce that longtime Des Moines area musician Devon Miller will once again take the stage with them. Devon rejoins the group after a 6 year hiatus, having helped build their brand since year 2000.

A familiar face in the central Iowa music scene, Devon began his career as a country artist performing with acts Desert Eagle and Sweetwater. His love of legendary guitarist Van Halen greatly influenced his musical trajectory and landed him in the Standing Hampton spotlight. Equally equipped as a vocalist and fiddle player, he brings a love of entertaining to every stage. Devon, on his decision: “Returning to SH feels like going back home; like reconnecting with an old friend and picking right up where you left off. The magic is still there and I can’t wait to see all the fans again. Let’s rock.”

Band member Jon Douglas Dixon says, “We’re ecstatic to have him back. It was like putting on a pair of favorite jeans.”

During his absence, Devon performed solo, acted as axe for hire, and as lead guitarist for the rock cover band, Abby Normal. The reunited Standing Hampton core group of Nancy Thomas Benson (vocals) and Tony Benson (drums, vocals), Devon Miller (guitar, vocals), and Douglas Dixon (keys, guitar) performed as a unit for 13 years prior to his departure. The current band includes bassist Nathan Maughn. 2020 marks the bands 20th year! They surpassed the 1000 gigs milestone late last year!
